SUNDAY WORSHIP

Eucharistic Visitor: Following the service, take communion to a parish member who is ill or homebound. Diocesan training required. See Judy Held (740-369-4931).

Lay Reader or Lay Eucharistic Minister: Read the lessons, lead the Psalm and prayers. Assist with communion and serve the cup of wine. Training required. See Tom Johnstone (740-524-2561) or Fr. Charles

Usher & Greeter: Welcome people as they enter the church, hand out bulletins, assist with hearing equipment, take collection and bring forth elements. Needed for either 8 or 10:30 services. See Fr. Charles for training.

Nametag Team: Greet people as the come to worship & assist them in finding their nametag. Ensure all in attendance place their nametag in a basket at the end of the service, not back in the rack. After services collect all the tags from baskets, tally attendance, and replace tags in the rack. See Emily Ross (740-965-6145)

Acolyte: For anyone age 10 through adults. Lead processionals and assist with the service with cross bearer, torches, server and thurifer. Assist at communion. Training required, see Linda Heid (740-548-6908).

Altar Guild: Teams prepare flowers and altar for Sunday mornings and special services. Care of linens and tableware. Training required. Monthly commitment, see Katie Cochran (740-363-8612).

Choir: sings traditional anthem & leads hymns during the second service under the direction and accompaniment of Carol Hallenbeck (740-201-3317). Rehearse Wednesday evenings at 7:30, Sunday mornings at 9:30 and sing most Sundays

MEALS & HOSPITALITY

Dining Room: Free meal served the last Friday of the month in the Undercroft. Contact Helen Andersson (740-369-0215), Louella Hunter or Dick Cooper to participate.

  • Table set up: Families or teams of four take turns setting up tables, chairs and place settings the afternoon before the meal.
  • Meal preparation: Help in the kitchen with cooking the meal that day.
  • Meal serving & clean up: Serve meals to guests family style, package food for carry-outs, deliver meals & help clean after.
  • Meal Delivery

Fellowship: help by providing baked goods and treats for events, or by setting up, serving food, and cleaning up during and after events. Contact Todd Hebb.

Pastoral Care Food Team: Provide meals to families in crisis or dealing with illness. Meet several times a year for food cook-ups to freeze meals ahead. Commitment on an as needed basis. Contact Louella Hunter (740-362-5712) if you can provide meals.

Coffee Hour: After 8:00 and 10:30 in the multi-purpose classroom. Provide goodies, help set up and clean up. Sign-up for specific dates at coffee hour, or bring donations any time labeled for coffee hour.

PIN Bread Pick-up: Get day old bread and post sale date baked goods from Kroger and transport to People In Need during the week by noon. Also take food collected during Sunday services to PIN. See Dick Cooper.

YOUTH MINISTRIES

Sunday School Teacher: Classes for ages pre-k thru post-confirmation, Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 working under Christian Formation Director Linda Heid (740-548-6908). Can teach in teams or rotations.

Children’s Church: Sunday morning service for young children meets in the chapel at 10:30 until the Peace. Curriculum provided, volunteers needed. See Linda Heid.
